
Cayla Van der Walt

Ocala, FLCayla van der Walt is a South African Grade V para-dressage rider and the founder of Librae Dressage, based in Ocala, Florida. Diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma in 2016, she underwent extensive treatment, resulting in limited use of her left arm. Despite this, Cayla's passion for equestrian sports remained unwavering. She began riding at the age of three and has since dedicated her life to the discipline of dressage. In 2021, Cayla represented South Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, competing in the Grade V individual dressage events with her horse, Daturo II. Her journey to the Paralympics was marked by resilience and determination, overcoming physical challenges to perform at the highest level of her sport.
